You will not find 2 people more in love....feeling like they have their WHOLE lives ahead of them than 2 people getting married. Stacy and Tyke had a glow about them that was.....awesome and lovely and all was right with the world. They are incredible people who love the Lord and each other with such gusto...it was great to get to meet them and photograph their special day. I loved meeting the whole family and such GREAT friends. What a weekend for me and I was just photographing...I can only imagine how special it was for Stacy and Tyke. Thank you for being in love and sharing that love with the rest of us. Your both really lovely people and I'm blessed to have gotten to meet you guys. Congrats on the beginning of the rest of your lives together! Cheers!

I had the best time freezing in 17 degree weather to capture these moments for my dear friend Rebecca and her family. This is Rebecca who lives on the "Ranch". My favorite place to go in my area. It's sooo quiet and peaceful there. On this day...it was freezing and windy, but we stuck to it and got the shots...then got inside for hot choco!!! wonderful time!!! :) Enjoy Snyder family, I had a great time...thank you!!!

So, as you know, a BIG wedding post will be coming soon because my new friends JUST got married and I was there to capture it on film. Today, we went on a small outing to the streets of the 'boat' to do a post wedding/engagement/bride and groom shoot! I cannot TELL you just how much I like this couple. The Sabbath

So, let me just say that it has been maybe.....oh.....a million years since I took a sabbath. Who knows what a Sabbath is? Raise your hands high.....Anyone? Well, I am reading Tim Kellers book 'The Kings Cross' and chapter 4 is all about a Sabbath. Growing up the Sabbath was a day that I had to do homework. Jesus says it's a day of rest. Homework is NOT rest. Sundays anymore are a day to work while the hubs is home and I don't have to be the go-to person RIGHT when the kids get up from nap. It's a work day for me. At least that is what it has become. Well, not anymore! This gal is TAKING a Sabbath! :) That's just what I did on Sunday. I didn't work, even though I had a shoot to edit. I just sat, laid down with my daughter during nap time, played a memory game with her, drank hot chocolate and just....sat. I was tempted SOO many times to work while the hubs watched Sunday football, but...alas...I did not! Thank you, Thank you very much :) So, back to editing today :) Here is a little bit of what I did :)

I have not posted in a HUNDRED YEARS!!! Holy smokes!!! Well, here is just a short...ever so short post at this late hour of 11:02 PM!!! wowzahs people. Anyway, I had a fun afternoon. I drove to 'The Ranch' today. Let me just tell you...I love this place. If you remember, I used to go to this ranch all the time and take pics and even more pics. Time after time! I love this ranch and when a friend asked me if we could do photos at her ranch...THE ranch...I jumped at the opportunity! She was inspired by the cover of the Anthro catalog.

This shoot was SUPER fun. Not only is this woman my friend, but it was snowing...bright colors....the works. It was awesome! Unfortunately, it was snowing pellets and the children were super cold...and...well....that's what we get for living in the FREEZING cold part of the U.S. Grateful that they were really flexible and grinned it for the sake of photography! Worth every minute :) hahahhaa (i was in a heavy jacket, so...I can say that)...Thanks Mel for letting me photograph your family!!!

Here is Melissa! Welcome Melissa to the ole' blog (applause). It was a real treat to photograph this family on Saturday. That was a HUGE step up from my routine days with the Spice Girls freshman year...in the hallway.....with hair brushes. Oh people...the days. Katie was such a stunning model at 10,000 ft. It was soo much fun finding locations to take some shots. We literally drove, stopped, drove, stopped...ran...dodged cars...risked our lives for the sake of photography. Loved that she was willing to indulge my crazy ideas! We got great shots out of it, so....no complaints over here!

Edyn's birthday!

Well, in all the madness of photoshoots...maintaining a home and trying to be a friend to the people around me...we had a birthday. Edyn turned 2 :) It was great! I can't believe she is two!!! She is an amazing joy to us. Let it be told that we were DONE at 2 kids, but God blessed us with a third...surprise...and we love her. Her personality is feisty and sweet. If you have wondered where I have been...let me set the rumors at rest. :) hahaha, I have been photographing amazing families the last few weeks. I have soo much editing to do..it's not funny. And I LOVE it! Up first...the S family! I have been wanting to photograph this little peanut for a LONG time. She is precious. Her mom and dad are not so bad themselves. :) Wonderful family. I was hoping they would roll up with their monogramed sweaters, but...thus...they came in excellent attire. Very suitable for our sunny, glowy sesh.

We have these things in town called sulfur springs. They stink. Like smell like the most rotten eggs you can imagine. So, as you can imagine...getting close to this baby was for the love of photography and photography only. It's a beautiful light blue...amazing color. National Park time! (super LONG)

We rolled up to the National Park over the weekend in style. Much fun was had by all. My sister in law is visiting and was supposed to leave here last Sunday, but I have convinced her to stay until Friday of this week.....I have excellent powers of persuasion :) It's been great. Instead of talking to myself, I have someone that is actually listening. It's nice. Anyway, we went to the National Park this past weekend and saw a moose, a herd of elk, falcons, ducks....the usual :) It was awesome. We drove to the very top where it was 50 degrees, but we were sweating because of being soooo close to the sun. Love that. We took fun photos and had fun running and collection stones. We ended our day with dinner by Grand Lake. It is very beautiful there....small town...ice cream shops...playing on the "beach" by the water...FUN! Until my son messed his pants and my daughter jumped INTO the lake and got soaked. Then it was time to go :) HAHAHA, we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us, so...it worked. Anyway, here is our lovely weekend!yeah, that is snow people this is an elk...Look at that RACK!So, this is the Lodge...sooo pretty. you could get married here! They had these old cars outside..so, of course I dissected them with my camera then I looked up....back to the car!Then we left the lodge and headed to Grand LakeShoes came off The ride home...I was driving mind you and put my camera on my shoulder and just clicked :) haahaha a href="http://www.sevenclowncircus.com/" target="_blank">

Just another day

I do love me some sunset photos...the sun is perfect. Still warm, there's a glow in the air that only late afternoon sun can bring. It's my favorite time especially in the summer/fall. My little one is no longer little. She turned 2 last week and has just exceeded my expectations these last few years. She is such a sweet, laid back peanut with incredible word skills. She loves her brother and sister a lot and runs to me for everything. It's sooo sweet. It's funny because I didn't feel this way about my first. WIth my first, I was trying to instill EVERY LAST bit of knowledge that I could. I believe that is why she is soo confident and responsible today (insert pat on the back now) (hahahahaha j/k). She really has grown leaps and bounds these last few years. If she cried, I didn't make a big deal about it....wouldn't rush to her just so she wouldn't freak out about maybe a fall or something. WIth E....it's different. She is most likely my last and I feel this need to be by her side to wipe EVERY tear or kiss every boo boo she gets. I am grateful for that change in me. With each child I have embraced them even more. Time becomes more sweet for some reason. God has really helped me to see my kids for who they are in that moment....not who they will be a year from now....or 10 years from now. The moment we live in is how I want to see them. Where they are now. God is good. Really good. These kids are not mine (eternally), but I am going to my very best to make sure they know who He is. If my kids learn NOTHING else.....I will consider that a success. A success that will echo in eternity (to quote the Gladiator). :)Here she is.....Isn't she beautiful!? I loved this dichotomy of life and deathWe had rain last week....it was soo nice. Do you ever feel guilty for staying in on a sunny day? Well, I do. Since we have 6 months of winter....I need to take EVERY opportunity to get out with no shoes on. :)

SOOC to an edit!!

I participated in Ashely's SOOC edit this week and love the result!

Ok, what did I do?

I have a few presets for photoshop that I used after I corrected the levels.

I used Florabella's April action....adjusted that to taste

Then I applied a Boost from Pioneer Woman

I then added a texture of SKY! notice...clouds are now in the edited shot!! hahahaha, a little secret

I then added Florabella's Milk and Honey preset and adjusted to taste...turning off the haze.

Added a small vignette, took off a ton with my eraser. :)

Sharpened my hubs and reduced the noise in the back

Added a little light to my hubs face and called it a day!

Oh, then I added Paint the Moons rounded corners with a grey background

Then my watermark....

now THAT'S it... :) hahahahaha

Get your bikes...it's a bear!!!

Took the kids to a culdasac the other day...to ride their bikes. I don't have a yard, so.. I have to go places to entertain the children :) And it's a great HUGE space for them to roam. Anyway, on another note...have you heard of Love and Logic? the book? Listen, I have read a ton of parenting books, magazines, I get emails and all sorts of stuff in the mail on how to raise my kids in a Godly manner. This book is it. It has every answer you could imagine on how to discipline with love and not anger. It has great advice and you should all read it :) hahahaha. really, it's great. I had a strong willed girl about 1.5 years ago. After reading this book, it helped me learn how to give her freedom for her age. It's very little, but an example is "do you want to wear the red jacket or the purple?" it empowers her to make decisions on her own. It was super helpful. Anyway, I would recommend finding it at your local library! Ok, back to BIKES!

I will leave you with this AMAZING dinner/lunch I had the other day. I made salmon with THIS marinade....SOO GOOD!!! Then, I rolled out the quinoa. Made that and put feta or goat cheese crumbles on top. Mixed chopped spinach in with the quinoa and called it a day! UNREAL people and SUPER healthy. :)

Once again, I am in the kitchen and the kids start YELLING...."LOOK MOM...LOOK!!!" This is a usual occurrence in my house. I encourage enthusiasm with the kids speech, so this is my OWN fault, but....I was super impatient this day and was like "STOP YELLING!!!" hahahahahaha....anyway, they wanted me to see this little fella.....

I think they knew it would be a photographic moment, so...hence the excitement....OR, it's a grasshopper...and they had just seen bugs life. Either way....he's a pretty ugly dude.

This post was a TON longer, but....I have to cut it off somewhere people. Some highlights about moi.

-I am doing great with my shopping ban...I am on month 2 thank you very much

-I am getting a new phone soon....yippee

-I have great friends (yes...I'm talking about you, whoever is reading this that i know)

-I made kettle corn tonight and it was the bomb.com

-I am embracing the end of summer and the beginning of fall....LOVE fall!!!

-Exciting news in our family........more to come on that

-my kids LOVE school.....a relief for sure

-I had 1 kid today because of school.....how amazing is that?

-I am exploring and branching out with my cooking...getting a lot of great recipes from annie's eats. Check her OUT!

-Looking forward to Thanksgiving & Christmas this year

-painted my nails a BRIGHT pink and LOVE it

-been hitting the gym at 6 a.m.....I'm the only young person in the bunch....i kinda like it

I think that's it for now......it's late and my brain doesn't work well after 8 pm. easily 7:30 pm.

We had a few things right by our house this week that were fun. Last weekend was the air show and we had some HUGE planes fly over head along with just fun bright ones!

Then, the kids were SCREAMING to look out the window...so I sauntered and found THIS out the front door. Literally!

Then I ran a 10k at 10,000 ft on Sunday. It was crazy. I am a road runner and this was trail running. For those of you who have done this before....more power to you. It was hard. They say it was the most beautiful run of the season, but...my eyes were constantly down...seriously. I only looked up once to see an amazing lake, but that was it. Crazy

From there, we went to Breckenridge....literally straight from the race. I had my workout clothes on ALL day. We went to see the sister in law in Frisco. It was GORGEOUS that day!!

G started school. Oh what a day! He was soo cute. Woke up saying "It's my first day of school!" He was a little shy at first, but soon went in and jumped from one play station to the next. When I arrived to pick him up after lunch, he was making sushi in the pans by the play kitchen. He ran over and said "Mommy, I missed you" music to my ears...let me tell you. Awesome little buddy!

Sistah E wanted some photos taken too with her big brother! She is hilarious people...hilarious!

Or I should say, how did this happen? I was in my kitchen making a SUPER fattening mac and cheese!!! yummy, when I looked around. Everywhere I looked there was kid paraphernalia. A water gun on the floor, kids clothes on the couch, coloring books on the table, a child's shoe (just one) in the foyer, little piggy banks on top of the fridge. When did this happen? It strangely just dawned on me that I have children. HAHAHAHA! I mean, I was there when they were born, but....I am realizing how big they are getting and how I can have conversations with 2.5 of them. WOW! when did this happen?

oh dear...I think my standard of cleanliness has gone down. now I look at a pile of clothes and say...."that can wait until tomorrow"....or I will leave dishes unclean in the sink because the dishwasher is empty...I feel like such a rebel.

What is happening to me!!!! hahahahahaha

Anyway, life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. (Movie reference anyone?)

Alright, on to the day we had...or I should say night. I took Kayla to the Rodeo a few weeks ago with a friend of mine. It was fun, hilarious, crazy, redneck and buggy all at the same time. Great fun was had by all!! This was the week my in-laws were in town and we finger painted as well. :)

I am GUEST POSTING over at Ashley's blog. LOVE IT!!!!! WAHOOO!!!!

If you have come over from Ashley's blog...WELCOME!!! I love meeting new people!! If you just read my post then....congrats on making it through that novel and second....thanks for finishing it all. I have a major follow up to report. In that post I mentioned "Where are the doors that need knocking on?". Well, a day after I sent that to Ashley I met a woman at the grocery store. Not just any woman, but an awesome, outgoing soul who I felt an instant connection with. Her son actually came up to my daughter and I and chatted (if you don't have children, get some...they are a great tool in meeting random people that maybe you/I don't have the guts to just waltz on up to). I met Stephanie in a Safeway...in the dairy aisle. It was as if I was talking to an old friend. I said something weird like "Oh, I like you...your forward". hahahahahha, maybe that was too forward, but I didn't care. I felt like God was giving me this person to just connect with. So, I got her digits and texted her the next week with some info about MOPS (mothers of preschoolers). I hope to see her there this Wed. :) Pretty cool how God put someone RIGHT in my path after I asked him to.....I think I will pray this again, yes?

I am almost through my first week of Kindergarten....I mean...my oldest is almost through her first week. HAHAHAHA, I feel like it was my first week too. She is acting like a teenager lately. I ask her "how was school"....."fine" she says. Where is my talkative little K? Usually she is amazing with details, but this week.....not many. I am talking to the other moms asking, them "what are your kids saying to you about what's going on in school?".....some say dancing, some say singing...all I know is that K comes home with a bracelet that she made every day. :) hahahaha. anyway....I hope this school thing gets easier. :) and that she learns to read.....one simple request :) hahahahaha

US Pro Cycling Challenge!

Our SMALL town had something awesome happen to it on Friday. We had the US pro cycling challenge come through on their 4th leg of the race. Basically, the Tour de France landed in our tiny town. It was amazing!!! Here is what I saw and then you can watch the video. SUPER cool people.. School was let out early, Josh got off of work at 12:30...the in laws were in town, so NO KIDS!!! We rode our bikes down and watched right at the finish line. Couldn't have been more fun!

It's a pirates life I lead! Well, not me...the kids. We had a GREAT time at a birthday party this last week that was Pirate themed. Hilarious! The kids had SUCH a great time! They had to walk the plank in the back yard......they played pin the tail on the donkey...they bashed a piñata with a baseball bat....they had sea punch, blue cream cheese to dip goldfish in....it was super cute. The birthday was for 2 sweet twins...in fact THIS mama has 2 SETS of twins 5 and under. She is crazy!!! hahahaha. She is a great mom!!! God gives those with her special laid backness twins...for sure. :) He knows! Anyway, here is the partaaay!!

This last weekend the hubs and I with children in tow drove our way to the middle of nowhere. Wait, that's where you live Kel.....yes yes...you are correct, but this is MORE in the middle of nowhere. And, we went through an even SMALLER town to get to the middle of nowhere. Unreal how these towns are just situated in the valleys of mountains....having farmers markets.....laughing...eating and being merry. Strange. I almost expected everyone to stop...silence throughout the town as the city folk drove through, then upon exiting town, all would resume....creepy I know. It was. Anyway, we went to LEADVILLE!!! to attend this:

If you can't read that, it says the Leadville Race series...something like that. This is one of the biggest in the nation people. These crazy men and women train for a long time to just compete in this little ol'e race. ....and by little, I mean 100 miles. HOLY SMOKES!!! Champions if you ask me. That's a LOT of time on a teeny tiny bike seat if you know what I'm sayin.....ouch. Just that alone is phenomenal. Anyway, we tagged along to cheer on 2 of our favorite cyclists J & B. It was a great time. Well....just take a look :)

This is apparently where they started and where they finish. We arrived at 6 hours 40 something minutes..the #1 racer came in at 6 hours 20 something minutes....CRAZY!!! So, we positioned ourselves here...at the finish line

I cannot WAIT to show you my day on Saturday....FUN FUN FUN!!!! COming this afternoon. AND, I did not forget about the wedding folks....still working on them. I have like 300 shots to do. The biggest news of them all....and you would agree if you knew me personally is......I erased...deleted...got rid of...never to be seen again...my Anthro wish list. PHEW!!! A relief!!! HAHAHA, I love Anthro sooo much that I had to give it up. I have put myself on a hiatus from shopping for the next 6 months and then hopefully further. I can only break my self imposed challenge if I receive money as a gift...and even then I am saving for a new lens...so...prob won't be clothes. This is HUGE for me since I LOVE fashion. Necessary. Not just for financial reasons, but for content reasons. I want to be content in all things and not be owned by anything. So.....thus begins my JOURNEY!!! :) I'll be back lata with some photos of my weekend.....You'll want to come back!!!! :)

7 things about myself eh?

1) I have a deep love for Canadians. I think they have the most PROPER english (phonetically) than anyone else...they have amazing land.....although I have been to Niagra Falls area and the Canadian side and there was more marijuana paraphernalia than I would have liked to see.....Anyway, and my good friend Karen (Holla Holla) is Canadian. I knew here for 6 months (lived in the same city) and I we continued our friendship well past our move....that's a good friend right there. :)

2) I lived in China and could probably count on my hand how many times I uttered the words "Hey, let's go out for Chinese food". I don't like it. :) Although, now having had American Chinese food...I miss China Chinese food.

3) I try not to have best friends...just SUPER close friends. When you label "best" friend, I think it excludes the possibility for your one friend to move even closer.....make sense? Life needs to be simple.

4) People think I am pretty laid back, but I will tell you that my husband is the most laid back person you will ever meet in your entire life!!!! It can be great or difficult....difficult if you want a good fight that is initiated by me only...not him. :) He's a good man!!

5) Since meeting my friend Sarah Sawyer MANY years ago (shout out) I have pretty much maintained the shower tradition of shaving every time I shower. I have faltered a bit, but for the most part...her wisdom is good. In fact when I don't shave....I think of her....every time. HAHAHAHA, she's going to laugh!

6) I love eggs. Period. well, not period...I hate scrambled. I choke them down every once in a while, but I hate them. The texture. YIKES! I got SUPER sick on scrambled eggs in college (who knew there was an expiration date on eggs...??? NOT a college student). Thus...I don't eat scrambled eggs unless forced....or with a TON of salt

and lucky 7) Actually, I don't believe in Luck...or astrologers....or fortunes....magic...Harry Potter (whoops....can't believe I just said that out loud, HAHAHAHA)....nothing of that crazy sort....real life of course. I believe in God. He saved me from a life of ......lunacy. I used to think I was the "stuff".....had it ALL together, then I was at a party with some college friends drinking. I was sitting on a bean bag chair (yeah...awesome and broke) looking around at people (my friends)...they were moving in slow motion. I remember thinking "there has to be something MORE to this life than THIS". The next day I found myself in a Campus Crusade meeting (where I met my laid back husband) and paid $400 to go to Panama City FL to get a tan...errrr...I mean share the gospel with people on the beach. God used my past to bring me to that point of meeting idiotic drunks on the beach and not think twice about it. Sharing God's love with them and not really knowing it myself. Good times. I met God at the end of that week..... really met Him. My life could not be any better than it is now because of Him. He has blessed me with a laid back hubs and 3 beautiful children who are crazy, but I love em. He continues to bless me in ways I just can't fathom. Anyway, my soap box is now.....closed :) hahahaha

I'm a thief!

That's right...I stole something....well, not something, but someone!!! A few months ago I asked my friend K to keep a night clear when the weather got warmer and I would take her somewhere. All the while I was thinking about mine and her's spiritual health. Mine wasn't great and she had some stress at that time so I thought....what better than to spend the evening at the foot of the cross. So, we did just that yesterday. A planned/forced quiet time. :) I picked her up at 5:30 and we rolled an hour out to a lake. OH soo gorgeous lake. We lugged fold out chairs, pens, journals, my camera, water bottle, granola bars, and iPods. I made her a selection of tunes to listen to and mapped out the thought journey I thought might be good to think about while out here. I had the same list of verses and people in my life to think about. The music started and I was taken to another place. I looked at the sunset, then to my journal, then my hands were in the air praising the one who made that there sunset. It could not have been any more gorgeous. K and I sat about 50 ft away from each other so I couldn't see her. About an hour in....I am entranced in my thinking of how the Lord loves me and what he has blessed me with when all of a sudden....K shows up out of nowhere. She is black hoodie clad and mumbling so not to open her mouth so much. With her she brought a posse. HAHAHAHA, a posse of bugs!!!! It was the PLAGUE!!! We were being infiltrated with gnats, or mosquitos....or flys...we don't know what they were, but we knew we had to get the heck out of dodge! We quickly grabbed our things and booked it. We ran back to the car parking lot where the bugs seem to NOT be. It's as if there was a line between the parking lot and the field. Hilarious!! Anyway, we moved to the dock and finished our time with the Lord. We chatted about what we had learned....A HA moments (like our dear Oprah would say), and epiphanies that only could have come from the Lord. Wisdom was shared.....I really learned a lot last night. WONDERFUL night!

SIDE NOTE!!! my son just came upstairs and I walked him back downstairs because it was bedtime...what did I find??? a full bottle of Mucinex GONE!!! he drank the whole thing!!! I called poison control and they said that they expect NO side effects of the medicine. WOW! so, you can drink a whole bottle of medicine and be totally fine? You better believe I am checking on that little boy all night long. WOWZERS!!! Scary I tell you. My fault for not putting the bottle away. I gave him some before bed because of allergies and then that.....yikes! Amen to no hospital visit that's for sure.

Anyway, back to last night. phew!

Friendship!!! These two are friends. Just today we were at the park and G just YELLED for Sophie to acknowledge his goodbye. He said it 20 times and then looked at me and said "mom, I need to go tell Sophie goodbye". HAHAHAHA, I said " I think she heard you lovely". They are cute with their goodbye hugs.....this could be an arranged marriage in the works!!! :) They lose touch over the years but with the coercion of their mothers.....all is right in the end. :) Done and done!

The British are coming

HAHAHA, I have no idea why I titled this THAT, but I did. HAHAHA. Who out there is gearing up for the Bachelorette finale tonight? I would be, but I am waiting till tomorrow to watch with some girls, so...NO SPOILERS please! I can't WAIT!! :) hahahaha.

Anyway, soo remember that there wedding I did a few weekends ago? Well, I am slowly but surely getting them edited. I am LOVING these shots. You can see this couples love through the photos. I really can. I am editing thinking...those are the hands that will provide for her for the rest of her life. Or, that woman truly loves that man. They are a super fun couple and are super photogenic, so....couldn't have asked for a better day!

Went to Denver and Breckenridge this weekend. Stressful with 3 kids rollin up to a Chilis for dinner....oh my. G was super hyper and wanted to dump all the salts/sugars out. E didn't like being a high chair and k....well...she is a little angel anymore. :) hahahahahhaa. Anyway, needless to say...we just don't have fun eating out these days. We'll opt to eat in until the kids can behave and love eating out as much as we do. :) I think that is 10 years away. :)

Anyway, I did NOT take my cammy this weekend....a little freeing. However I was in Breck and wished I had it.:( oh well...next time.

The wedding!!!

The bride had asked for white shoes to be brought to her from Germany (her home)....they were forgotten...so these were her something borrowed :)

This was one of the groomsmen. He was soo cute and little...I was a little fearful of him riding this ATV...he did it like a champ!

Here T is, waiting for his soon to be bride to arrive.

Then we had the wedding & reception (those photos to come)

Then we took them to "the barn" and had a mini shoot after the reception and during the skeet shooting. HAHAHHA, yes, the skeet shooting.

Then we were done.....true naturals and a super happy couple.....(more photos to come of the ceremony and reception) :)

Debonair

Now, I know you ALL read Ashley's blog. I just know it. Well, today she did a post on a NEW action called Debonair. She converted it to PS from PSE originally from Katie Lloyd's blog. Anyway, Ashely was nice enough to convert the original into a PS file and I LOVE IT!!! I told Ashley that I was going to do a WHOLE post in JUST the Debonair.

WHAAALAH! well, I added sone vignette and maybe a little warmth. That's it! What do you think?

To me...this isn't the greatest photo. I'm not loving the composition, the location...eh...but the meaning...well, that's another story. Do you know what is happening here? Sunday our church had it's annual BBQ! Filled with laughter and pulled pork (mmmm) we started our picnic with Baptisms. Many got baptized that day. Including this gentleman. Now, I can't remember his story or anything meaningful that he may have said (I was busy taking photos) but for one, i love the movement of the water around his head...it is following him and 2, he was baptized. Jesus was baptized. Man with no sin was Baptized and this man followed in His footsteps. He made a public proclamation to everyone that he is a Believer and wants to be held accountable as such. We as a church are to walk with him to help sharpen each other in Christ. It was a beautiful moment. What you can't hear are the many hands that clapped and cheered as he emerged from the water. And how we were a mere whisper in comparison to the applause in Heaven that was had at that moment. SO yeah, this may not be the greatest photo, but it is the greatest moment.

Super cute and whimsical, it has everything for the making of a good fairytale. I met J, D, and F at their cottage retreat home a few weeks back to try and capture their family in this magical setting.....I think we achieved it!!!

The Wedding!

Blazing saddles anyone? Hahaha, I photographed an extremely unique wedding this weekend. I had the most fun EVER! This wedding was complete with horseback, cowboy hats, pulled pork and shooting skeet. :) It...was...great! This is my friend Rebecca's brother. You know Rebecca...she has been on this blog before and she is the one that lives on "the ranch". :) We love the ranch! SOOO open and wonderful....like the sound of music meets ranchers.

second post of the week. Dang. I am on a ROLL!!! I seriously have been busy editing. I had 4 shoots last week that are keeping me super busy (during nap times of course). Here is the C family! I posted last week a photo with their daughter C. Here are a few more...oh and if you are thinking of me tomorrow....:) cuz....that's a normal thing on a Saturday..yes? hahaha....I have my first wedding tomorrow! Can't wait! It's a country/cowboy theme. SUPER different than anything you might EVER imagine happening at a wedding. :) Honky Tonk style up in here :)

Can't wait to show pics from that! So, that's tomorrow morning SUPER early!

This is S and he is amazing. He is a child that learned to read at 4...knows how to build lego buildings...you know..the small pieced set. He is super smart at drawing dinosaurs and most of the time obeys his mama. We are trying to arrange a marriage with him and my oldest daughter. hahahahahaha.....you know you have a boy/girl for you kid too. come on!

i know this item is below....but I don't care. The theme this week was props and by golly..I had a prop!!! :)

Let me just say...I love me a good farmers market. I love the locals coming out supporting local farmers. I grew up going to an amish farmers market that was.....out of this world. Every weekend we rolled up to this place where you could get apple fritters, shoes and coke bottle gummies all under one roof. Could it get any better? I dare say it could not.

So, in keeping with the tradition of our town/forefathers/parents/........anyway, we took the kids to the local farmers market. HA.....I laugh out loud because of the whining that began to happen. It was like the kids saw the market and were like "what the....?" Josh and I enjoyed it, but the kids killed any enjoyment that we had left about half way through. Oh my. G decided to TOUCH one of the crousants that a local pastry shop had on display. TOUCHED it people. AND the woman running it saw this and Josh and I looked at each other like....."what do we do?" neither of us had cash on us...so I asked the woman "Do you take credit card?"...hahahahaha, saying it out loud was funnier than typing it. Credit card outside at the farmers market???? seems proposterous, but we felt like we needed to buy this said crousant because of the hand touchage. Well, G touched it MORE than once......and we had to just walk away slowly as if we had no idea what to say and then run like hell hoping they don't take our first born. Oh my. If I had money on me, I would have offered to buy that 1 and all the ones around it, but I had NO MONEY!!! perhaps that is mistake #1. But the farmers market was a happen upon type of situation....who could have been prepared? Anyway, the farmers market is not what it used to be. There was SOME food....but there was also a LOT of home made goods...like wooden things.....lotions.....weird baby things. I am all about supporting crafts, but is this what the farmers market has turned into? An art fair? I don't mean to offend anyone. I LOVE baby items....wooden things.....lotions, but I thought the farmers market was for the FARMERS who have crops.....oh dear....ok, stepping OFF the soap box.
