Wahoo!!! we went to Denver KID FREE!!!! It was the nicest thing to not be on a schedule the whole day. We ate when we wanted to and shopped around without the noise of kids crying or asking for more food. :) It was great! I took some shots of our drive down. It was sunny in some spots and foggy in others. Then I have some pics of the furniture we bought. We got this furniture for NOTHING!! well, we paid for it, but the couch is a $4500 couch NOW featured on Restoration Hardwares website. Josh and I sat in it Saturday night and thought...this is our DREAM couch and the next day we found woman selling the same one, 14 months old just because she wanted to redecorate with something else. She had 2 of them. WHAT??? They were awesome people!!! Anyway, the couch is a little big for our space now, but hopefully we are moving out of this space in the next month, so.....not for long. The dresser is a Pottery Barn dresser from this guy who just wanted a smaller one. And the quilt is a Pottery Barn one that this woman was getting rid of because she was moving and wanted to start new. I mean, come on!!! OH and the chairs at the dining table behind the couch.....oh man, those chairs are amazing and 298 bucks each. We got them for a SONG!!! a good song at that. have a look

Real birthday

Tuesday was Guinness's actual birthday and we had a little something for him at my friend Caroline's house. The kids decorated the train cake and Guinness actually ate a piece this time. It was a great time to celebrate 1 year of life with my peanuts. Solomon is Kayla's very good friend here. He is just a few months older than her & whatever he does...Kayla does. It's nice when it comes to eating new things and of course...the potty. :) He was officially her teacher. :)

Happy Birthday Guinness

Well, we celebrated "Asia" time! Guinness was born at 7:40 PM on the 13th in America and 9:40 AM on the 14th in Asia. We had Josh's parents over for the festivities. Josh and I marveled at how fast he grew up. This year went by soo fast. And as everyone has ALWAYS said "your second doesn't get the same attention as the first". This my friend, was my life long mission. To make Guinness feel just as special as the first born. ......my mission failed. :) Josh and I looked at each other and thought, we can get super fun toys at garage sales this summer, lets wait to get him a present. We looked at each other again and thought...does he need a party? He isn't going to remember this anyway. Soo sad. Poor guy. Joan had a few gifts for him, so we watched him open those. He wouldn't touch the cupcakes I made him. Not sure if because it was NEW he didn't want them, or if it was because I made them......he is learning early. :( Finally, he just wanted to play with the camera we were taking his picture with. All in all, it was a good day. We will celebrate tomorrow again with some more decorating of the cupcakes with my friend Caroline. There is always next year to redeem myself from my lack of interest in putting together a 1st birthday party. Here are some pictures of our evening. (kayla has jewelry on because Joan didn't want her to feel left out).
