Cont. pics from the condo and the kiddos

Finally! our new condo`

Just last week we found a condo and are in the process of moving in.  Here are some pics of the place.  We love the location and the apt. is fairly new (good thing).  Our "landlord" is awesome and we are grateful for the space.  Check it out

Fall is in the air

Here are some pics of Fall in Steamboat Springs.  It is soo beautiful here.  Now till next week is the peek of the trees.  I miss the east coast fall though...more colored trees, not just yellow. :)  These pictures are from the drive home from town.  This is the valley where Josh's parents live.

Here is the picture of my brothers kid & my nephew John started preschool this year. Here he is standing in line.  He looks soo grown up. :)

Family updates

We had a new birth a month ago.  Jon & Julie had their first little baby Madaleine.  So adorable.  My sister is having her 2nd baby.  She is about to pop!  Baby is due at the end of Oct.  Then there is AMY! she is getting married THIS weekend.  I can't believe it.  I am soo bummed I can't be at the wedding, but the guy she is marrying is stellar and I have a good feeling that the day will be AWESOME! My brothers kids are soo cute.  Here is a picture of his son Sam. He looks just like my brother.  And finally, cousin Jason is coming home from Iraq at the end of Oct and his prego wife is due Nov 8th (around).  He is making it home JUST in time.

Pictures from the weekend

We had to travel 4 hours to buy this car.  So, we mapquested it and found that the easiest way was to go through Rocky Mountain National Forest.  It was gorgeous.  I have been there before, but it was full circle now, with the kids and being married.  So much fun. We saw a moose and were really hoping to see a bear, but ....no bear.  The kids did great on that ride.

Ok, here's the car

We bought a CAR!!

This is a big deal.  For the last 5 years, we have been at the mercy of chinese men (sometimes women) who didn't speak english and drove like maniacs.  I remember being pregnant with kayla and I was sitting in the back of the cab eating apples.  My cabby was driving soo fast, he was tailing the guy in front with maybe 5 inches of space between bumpers.  The guy in front slammed on his breaks and we hit him, but then swerved and took off.  It was totally our fault, but we high tailed it out of there so this guy wouldn't have to pay.  Dang!  Another cab driver once told me..."it's ok if I hit him, I have insurance".  What?  the value of LIFE?? haha, ANYWAY, we bought a car. :)

I will add pics of it tomorrow.  We love it.  I realized that I didn't put any pics up of our trip to Beijing.  It was so much fun.  It was 105 degrees and we climbed the Great Wall, saw the Temple of Heaven and got lost in the 999 1/2 rooms at the Forbidden City.  In one of the photos, all these people came RUNNING when we took kayla out of her stroller.  A blonde haired blue eyed little girl and they ALL wanted a shot.  It was soo funny.

enjoy

I put Kayla into a halloween costume that I bought for Guinness for NEXT year (garage sale...25cents).  Kayla loved it.  Soo funny.

Small town

As many of you know..I LOVE the city.  I Love the sound of cars and seeing tall buildings when I look out my window.  I even love the TONS of people that reside in cities and walk the city streets everyday.  Since June, Josh and I have been living in the smallest town in the history of small towns. We visited in Dec 07 and I said I would NEVER want to live in this town because it is soo small.  After having been here for 3 months now....(I can't believe 3 months) we are LOVING this small town feel.  Now, don't get me wrong...I LOVE the city and miss the people (all 23 million of them), but there is something so cozy and lovely about a small town.  This morning, Josh and I packed up the kids and drove 4 miles into town.  We parked, grabbed snacks and the double stroller and walked 10 minutes down the street to the Yampa River.  This is a river that runs through town that at the beginning of the summer Josh, myself, Amy, Joel, Jason and Jesse tubed down. The water was FREEZING at the time because it was all run-off from the mountains, but it was fun all the same.  We went to this bridge and watched them dump hundreds of yellow duckies in the river.  There were numbers on them so that the one who reached the end would get a prize, but it was soo much fun.  There was FREE coffee (at least we hope it was free :)) and people all along the side of the river.  We watched them dump them in and then we walked to the other end where they determine the winner.  At the end we went to the new library in town (BEAUTIFUL) and the park so that Kayla could run around.  I have pictures of course.
Enjoy.

Cool shots

Here are some cool pics that were taken on opposites sides of the world.  The first is a picture Josh took in Asia of some fishermen  boats.  The second is from a camping trip Josh took in Asia again...hence the bamboo.  The third pic is of the backyard here in CO.  It was really foggy the other morning.  Then the last one is obviously cool, it is of Kayla and I when she was 6 months old.  She looks a little like Guinness does now.  a little.
